Why Give to the Franklin Food Pantry?
The Franklin Food Pantry is a private, nonprofit organization. We depend on donations from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other strategic partners to fund our expenses. We are grateful for our many partnerships, including that with the Greater Boston Food Bank, that allow us to achieve greater buying power and lower our costs. We are also grateful to our state delegation for funding statewide food insecurity initiatives and to the Town of Franklin for non-monetary program support. Donations and grants fund our food purchases, keep our lights on, and put gas in our food truck.
What does your gift do for your community?
Nutritious & Fresh Food
Purchase nutritious and fresh food (fruits, vegetables, dairy products, and proteins) to supplement non-perishable food donations.
Purchasing Power
Purchase food from the Greater Boston Food Bank at the best possible price. The Pantry leverages its buying power to acquire food at a fraction of grocery store costs. $1 spent at GBFB equals 2 meals provided!
Personal Care Items
Provide personal care items not covered by SNAP (food stamps) such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toilet paper, and feminine hygiene products.
Year Round Needs
Meet community needs all year long, especially during times when food and fund drives happen less frequently.
Maximize Efficiency
Manage our inventory more efficiently. Food donations require space, time, and labor for sorting, date checking, and stocking.
Household Products
Provide household products that are not covered by SNAP (food stamps) such as laundry detergent and cleaning supplies.
The Pantry benefits from a large number of food and fund drives each year that supplement our inventory. However, food donations have certain limitations and present some challenges in meeting the needs of our clients. Monetary donations provide the most flexibility to purchase perishable, fresh and shelf-stable items at heavily discounted rates from our partners. This also allows The Pantry to schedule deliveries and shopping hours so our clients get what they need and minimizes waste.
How can you partner with us to help our neighbors?

CLIENT STORY
Susan
Susan retired after 25 years as an administrative assistant. Given the steady rise in the price of everything, she is finding her fixed income is being stretched thinner and thinner. The social worker at the Senior Center referred her to the Franklin Food Pantry when she learned Susan was starting to skip meals. Susan now routinely shops at The Pantry on Friday mornings. The Pantry is the extra boost she needs to fill in each month.
